Terms (pilot draft)
1. The pilot
Tabby is an invite-only test of a budgeted apartment-hunt helper in New York City, run by Nic (GitHub: nicsins). Contact: nicsins@gmail.com. The pilot is provided "as is". It may change, pause or end at any time.
2. What Tabby does and does not do
- Tabby reads only the alerts, links and text you give it. It does not crawl or scrape listing sites.
- Building checks use public NYC HPD records, which can be incomplete or out of date. Flags are hints, not findings.
- Tabby is not a broker, agent, lawyer or financial adviser, and nothing it shows is legal or financial advice. It cannot promise that a listing is available or that an application will be approved.
3. Nothing is sent without your confirmation
Each application needs your confirmation on a review screen for that one listing. Tabby gives you an email draft to send yourself or a packet to submit on the listing's own site. You decide what you send and to whom. Landlord application fees, if any, are paid by you directly to the landlord. Tabby charges no per-application fee.
4. Budget and credit
- Each hunt has a budget you set ($25 to $200). Checks are counted against it at the price shown, and the hunt stops when the budget is used up.
- Free pilot credit has no cash value.
- There is no live checkout. Payments in the pilot run in Stripe test mode only, and no real money is charged.
- Unspent paid credit is refundable on request, minus the card processor's fee (currently 2.9% + $0.30 for card payments). Credit paid in USDC is refunded in full.
5. Fair Housing and acceptable use
Describe the home, not the people. Requests to filter or rank by a protected characteristic are refused (see the Fair Housing statement). Do not use Tabby to share someone else's personal details without their permission, or for anything unlawful.
6. The waitlist
Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a pilot spot. You can ask to be removed at any time.
7. Limits
To the extent the law allows, the pilot is offered without warranties, and Tabby is not liable for decisions you make using it. Nothing here limits rights you have under law.
8. Changes
We will update this page, and its date, before any change takes effect. Testers will be told directly about material changes.
